SUMMARY:Solar Ribbon Cutting at Grace Episcopal Church of Bainbridge Island
DESCRIPTION:The Grace community and project partners are thrilled to announce the completed construction of a 32 kW solar power system on the rooftop of Grace Episcopal Church. \nThis project\, made possible through the collective efforts of the church volunteer team\, the WA Department of Commerce Clean Energy Program\, Olympia Community Solar\, and Cascadia Solar\, reduces operating costs and generates clean electricity for the church. The endeavor has expanded the church’s ability to serve its congregation and the broader community for years to come\, with the added benefit of reduced carbon emissions. This ceremony and workshop is a great opportunity to learn more about the benefits of solar\, meet the individuals and organizations that have made this project a reality\, and celebrate Grace’s commitment to caring for the Earth and supporting and empowering residents of Bainbridge Island. \nThe program will include: \nRibbon Cutting Ceremony (9:00am) with words of acknowledgement from key project partners: \n\nAnn New\, Grace Senior Warden\nMarcia Lagerloef and Dan Rohan\nDave and Krista from Cascadia Solar\nMason Rolph from Olympia Community Solar\n\nEducational workshop (10:00am)\nKrista Myers and Mason Rolph will provide a presentation featuring information about the project\, how solar power works\, and how people interested in solar can learn more. \nPlease RSVP to ensure we have enough refreshments and seating for all attendees. The ceremony will be held on the outside patio\, if weather permits. The endeavor allows ERC to reinvest savings into resident programs\, facility maintenance\, and affordable rent stability.
