We’re thrilled to unveil our latest collaborative project at the Yelm Community Center! This project is 37kWs and will include energy storage, allowing the building to operate as an emergency center during power outages! Thanks so much to the City of Yelm, and the Washington State Department of Commerce for making this all possible. The installation was done by the incredible team at Sphere Solar Energy.
In a world facing more frequent and severe extreme weather events, our communities need safe spaces we can rely on. That’s why this solar-powered community center with a battery backup is a game-changer! When the grid goes down during storms or heatwaves, the Yelm Community Center can stay open with clean, renewable energy. By offering shelter, cooling or heating, and a place to charge devices, this center will be a lifeline for vulnerable groups, ensuring no one is left behind in a crisis.
