This solicitation is for Qualified Rental Housing Inspectors to provide health and safety inspections in rental units participating in the SHARE Accelerator program.

The SHARE Accelerator is a voluntary City of Olympia program, developed through a partnership with Olympia Community Solar (OCS), that aims to connect owners of affordable rental housing within city limits to funding, information, and resources that will streamline energy efficiency as well as health and safety retrofits for their properties. SHARE Accelerator program staff have opened applications and plan to accept 10 rental units in 2026. Program goals include:

● Improving the quality and energy efficiency of Olympia’s existing rental housing stock
● Streamlining compliance with Olympia’s Rental Registry and Inspection Program – which includes the rental housing inspections focused on health and safety beginning in 2026.
● Maintaining housing affordability and reducing energy burdens for renters.

TIMELINE
● RFP release date: March 23rd, 2026
● Proposal due date: April 24th, 2026
● Selection announcement: May 8th, 2026
