Our team partnered with LD-22 Representative Beth Doglio to introduce a bill that would create a $20 Million Dollars for Low Income Solar grant program and enable Virtual Net Metering, the enabling policy to allow community solar.

During policy committee, electric utility opposition successfully striped the virtual net metering portion out of the bill, but the low income funding advanced through both the House and the Senate.  As it was sent to the Governors desk in March 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic caused economic concerns for the State. Governor Inslee vetoed hundreds of bills including 2248.
