Yakima County Solar Ribbon Cutting

Celebrate community investment with Yakima County!

Yakima County community and project partners are thrilled to announce the completion of the 1,386 kW solar installation across the rooftops of nine county buildings. This project, made possible through the collective efforts of Yakima County Facilities staff, the WA Department of Commerce Clean Energy Program, Olympia Community Solar, and Ellensburg Solar, goes beyond reducing carbon emissions. By reducing operating costs, it keeps taxpayer dollars local and reinvests into the community through County projects. This ceremony is a great opportunity to learn more about the benefits of community solar, meet the individuals and organizations that have made this project a reality, and celebrate Yakima County’s commitment to serving and empowering its residents.

The program will include:
– Gather at Courthouse Lobby at 9am
– Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 9:30am on the County Courthouse roof
